President’s Day is right around the corner, and Yosemite National Park is celebrating by waiving the entrance fee during the whole President’s Day weekend – that means that you can visit the park between Saturday, February 15 and Monday, February 17 and get in free. Seeing that announcement reminded me that I had never posted the pictures that I took when I was lucky enough to fly over the park, late in 2013. I had a window seat and the flight attendant announced that we were flying over Yosemite National Park and you could see it from the side of the plane that I was lucky enough to be seated on! I whipped out my iPhone and got a picture of half dome – you can see it on the top of this post! Can you find it? It was amazing to be looking down on such a famous landmark!
I had just been taking pictures before that announcement, because the mountains were so pretty in the light – I love dusk! Here is one of the pictures that I took not long before they made the announcement of flying over Yosemite:
An award-winning photographer I am not, but I was still happy to be able to get some pictures from the air, even though I didn’t have time during that trip for a visit to the national park. If you happen to be in the area, though, over President’s Day weekend, stop in and take advantage of the free admission!
